Brodheadsville Man Arrested for Receiving Stolen Property

Brodheadsville - Members of the Monroe County District Attorney's Office Criminal Investigation Division and the NEPA Auto Theft Task Force took William EICHELSDOERFER, age 52 of Brodheadsville into custody, charged with receiving stolen property involving the theft of a Caterpillar Power Rake valued at $9,000.00, a 4' Forks Attachment valued at $2,100.00, a Belmont trailer valued at $7,800.00 and a Caterpillar Bucket attachment valued at $1,800.00.

On October 8th, 2018 Pennsylvania State Police responded to a complaint from IB ABEL Inc reporting the theft of equipment valued at $20,700.00 from 105 Greenview Drive in Chestnuthill Township. On October 17th, 2019 the investigation was turned over to the Monroe County District Attorney's Criminal Investigation Division detective Robert SEBASTIANELLI who had recently been assigned to the Northeast Pennsylvania Auto Theft Task Force, for further investigation.

On November 4th, 2019 at the conclusion of the investigation Mr. EICHELSDOERFER was arrested for receiving the stolen property and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso and released on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

The Pennsylvania State Police established a municipal automobile theft/motor vehicle insurance fraud task force program throughout Pennsylvania to coordinate automobile theft and motor vehicle insurance fraud prevention, investigation and enforcement activities. The Monroe County District Attorney's Office became a full time participant in July of this year after hiring retired state police trooper Rob SEBASTIANELLI assigned to the task force. Monroe County's participation is fully funded by a grant from the Automobile Theft Prevention Trust Fund.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled for Mr. EICHELSDOERFER at a later date.
