Church in Effort Destroyed by Fire
CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP: At 12:17 am on Monday, July 9th, 2018 the Monroe County Control Center (911) dispatched the West End Volunteer Fire Company and West End Ambulance to the Full Gospel Tabernacle Bread of Life Church located at 3078 Rt 115 (corner of Mountain Laurel Drive) in Effort for a structure fire. The caller stated that they didn't know if anyone was inside but can see flames coming from the roof.
At 12:32 am 43-93 requested a Full Response from Polk Township Volunteer Fire Co. (Station 35) and Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Co. to the fire scene.
Responding units could see the orange glow in the sky from miles away.
West End Ambulance arrived on scene at the fire at 12:33 am.
At 12:35 am 43-83 requested a Full response from Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder.
At 12:51 am Fire OIC requested a Tanker from Tunkhannock Volunteer Fire Co. (Station 42).
At 12:55 am Fire OIC requested a Full Response from Tunkhannock Volunteer Fire Co. (Station 42).
