CROWN FOOD CART owner ROBERT WILLIAM SCIFO JR of Kunkletown arrested on various fraud offenses

After receiving multiple consumer complaints beginning in June of this year Robert WILLIAM SCIFO, JR., 34 of Kunkletown, was arrested yesterday by Monroe County District Attorney detectives, charged with 4 felony counts of theft by deception, 4 felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, 2 misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and 2 misdemeanor counts of theft by deception. Mr. SCIFO, operating a company called CROWN FOOD CARTS, collected$28,026.76 between October 30th, 2016 and July 15th, 2017 from six customers and failing to deliver the products or services promised.

Mr. SCIFO solicited customers from his website, https://crownfoodcarts.com/. Mr. SCIFO claimed to manufacture custom food trailers, food cart accessories and concession equipment, with a corporate office in Wilmington DE and sales partners in Chile, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. In these six instances, Mr. SCIFO either failed to deliver the items he collected funds for or substituted inferior items including food carts, a custom equipped food truck and food cart accessories. Customers were from New York, Pennsylvania, California, and Texas.

Mr. SCIFO was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kris Anzini and released on $25,000.00 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Monday, November 27th, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. before MDJ Anzini.
