Jonathan Kennedy of Saylorsburg was struck Sunday night

PEN ARGYL, Pa. - A Monroe County man who was struck by a car near Weona Park died Monday afternoon. Jonathan Kennedy, 26, died at Saint Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill, Lehigh County, at 1:53 p.m., according to the coroner. He was one of two people struck by a car Sunday evening.

The cause and manner of his death are pending an autopsy set for May 27, according to the coroner's office.

Slate Belt Regional police are investigating the accident, which occurred at 8:52 p.m. on Route 512 in front of the park, according to the coroner's office.

The other victim, a woman in her late 20s, was also taken to Saint Luke's Hospital. Her condition was not known Tuesday afternoon.

Police took the driver into custody on suspicion of drunken driving. There was no information on the driver's identity.

Police have not said what caused the accident and it remains under investigation.
