On Friday morning, November 22, 2013, Troopers from the PSP – Fogelsville State Police responded to 1190 Grange Road, Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County for the report of a missing person.  Upon arrival they found that Holly Ann Grim was missing and her mother felt the circumstances were suspicious.  Jeanette Grim, the victim’s mother, had attempted to contact her daughter, Holly, that morning via telephone and when she did not reach her she went to her residence.  The victim’s vehicle was in the driveway and she found a spilled coffee mug and overturned ashtray in the residence.  The victim was not heard from again.

The missing person investigation continued and investigators eventually interviewed Michael Horvath, a co-worker of Grim’s from Allen Organ Company.  Horvath was initially interviewed due to his being late for work on the day of Holly’s disappearance.  Horvath related that he had a flat tire that day and returned home to repair it and then went on to work.  The location provided by Horvath where he got the flat tire was approximately 2.5 miles from the home of the victim.

Horvath was re-interviewed in June, 2014 and related that he had been at Grim’s residence to transport a clothes washer and dryer and help her carry them into the residence.  Horvath provided a DNA swab to investigators on that date which later was matched to a bloodstain found on an outside door of Grim’s residence at the time she disappeared.

On September 27, 2016, a search warrant was executed on the property of Michael Horvath in Ross Township (2368 Woodhaven Drive) and investigators unearthed bones.  DNA from one (1) of the bones has since been compared to the known DNA profile of Holly Grim and determined to be a match.  Monroe County Coroner Robert Allen has ruled the death a homicide.

An arrest warrant was secured and served on Michael Horvath on October 13, 2016 and he is currently in custody.  A press conference will be held today at 11:00 AM at the Monroe County Safety Center located at 100 Gypsum Road in Snydersville, Monroe County.
