One Vehicle Crash on 209 in Gilbert

Billy Doyle reports At 7:40 a.m. this morning, a woman was traveling north on Route 209 in Gilbert and failed to negotiate the corner. Her car went down into a ditch traveled about 50 feet and struck a tree at 1336 Rt 209 and was catapulted into the air. The car and landed on his driver side and was later pushed back down on the wheels when paramedics arrived.

The road was closed for an hour while emergency officials worked to clear the scene of the vehicle which rolled over.

The driver was taken to an area hospital.

Police did not release any information on the driver's identity. The driver's condition was not known Thursday afternoon.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.

West End Volunteer Fire Department, West End Ambulance responded to the scene.
