Over 270 Families will have Thanksgiving Dinner Thanks to Ertle’s and Others who Donated Turkey’s

Bill Thek and Debby York unpacking Turkey's for Distribution

On Saturday, November 17th, 2018 The West End Food Pantry was able to distribute over 270 Turkey's to Families and Elderly that would have otherwise not been able to have a Thanksgiving Dinner and it was all thanks to Ertle's Subaru and several others that donated Turkey's.

As of Wednesday, November  14th, it looked pretty grim as only a few Turkey's were donated at that point until Steve Ertle and Ertle's Subaru stepped up and Donated 250 Turkey's to The West End Food Pantry. Several others also stepped up and donated Turkey's Thursday, Friday and on Saturday during the West End Food Panty's Distribution.

We would also like to thank All the Volunteer's that showed up to help on Saturday and a Special Thanks to the Eldred Township Constable's Richard and Virginia Salter who did a Great Job with helping the West End Food Pantry clients park with the limited space we had due to the snow. We realize it must have been frustrating for some clients when Rich and Virginia had to turn them away at times until spaces opened up.

On a side note Rich was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic, thankfully he was not seriously hurt and he continued to direct traffic with Virginia until the closing of the Food Pantry at 12:00 pm.

We wish everyone a Happy, Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving.
