Press Release: Burglary at Dunkelberger’s Main St Stroudsburg

On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at approximately 10:40 pm the Stroud Area Regional Police Department was dispatched to an audible alarm coming from the Dunkelbergers retail store located at 585 Main Street in the Borough of Stroudsburg. Through investigation, the following was learned:

On 10/29/19 at approximately 10:38 P.M. Cory Zukowski, a 28-year-old white male from Stroudsburg, used the metal top of a Stroudsburg garbage can to break the front glass door of Dunkelbergers. Zukowski walked directly to the area of the store in which firearms are located and took possession of 2 Smith and Wesson MP15 .22 caliber rifles along with opening numerous boxes of ammunition. Responding patrol officers entered the store and located Zukowski hiding behind a sales counter, where he was taken into custody.

Zukowski was charged with the following crimes:

· Burglary (F2)

· Theft by unlawful Taking (F2)

· Criminal Mischief (M2)

· Resisting Arrest (M2)

Zukowski was arraigned on the morning of Wednesday, October 30, 2019, by Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge and denied bail.
