A man was charged with stabbing and threatening to kill a woman and others during a Friday incident at a Dal Road residence in Chestnuthill Township.

David Keith Rodriguez, 30, of Saylorsburg, was arraigned on the felony charge of aggravated assault, the misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment and the summary charges (citations) of harassment. Rodriguez was ordered placed in Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail and will be scheduled to appear in district court at a future date.

Police responded to the residence and found Rodriguez being restrained on the floor by a man who said Rodriguez had stabbed the man's daughter, an affidavit states. Police took Rodriguez into custody and noticed a bleeding wound on the man's forearm where he said Rodriguez had bitten him.

Police interviewed the man's daughter, who said Rodriguez had punched her in the face during an argument and then begun choking her in the bedroom. She said Rodriguez then got two kitchen knives, began stabbing the bed and then stabbed her on the top of her hand and the inside of her forearm, just below the wrist.

She said she managed to wrestle the knives away from Rodriguez and picked up her son, who was crying in his crib at the time. She said Rodriguez then forced her down onto the bed, with the baby in her arms, and started threatening to kill her, the baby and her father and brother, the affidavit states.

That was when her father entered the bedroom, pulled Rodriguez off of her and the baby and wrestled with him to the floor, where he restrained Rodriguez until police arrived.

Police saw a cut on the top of the woman's left hand, another cut on her inner right forearm, a red mark on the left side of her face and red marks on the front of her neck. Police found two kitchen knives, one with an eight-inch blade and the other with a four-inch blade, on the bedroom floor.

This location is in fact not even close to the Sun Valley development. It is at least 6 – 10 miles away, downtown Brodheadsville is closer to this.
