18th Annual Carbon County Fair August 7th thru 12th, 2017 4 pm to 10 pm
The 18th annual Carbon County Fair will be located on Little Gap Road in Palmerton and will run August 7th through August 12th. Fair hours will be 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily.
This year’s theme is “Country Scenes, Blue Ribbon Dreams,” and there will be plenty of excitement to remember.
There will be six days of fun for everyone. The agricultural fair will be open rain or shine. There will be lots of covered seating at the main stage, so remember to bring your lawn chair. Sit back and relax all week long. Bring the kids and grandkids to the fair as there will be plenty of ride specials and other fun throughout the week.
There will be entertainment by The Rehrig Brothers, DJ Chicken Nugget, DJ The Doctor, Ryan Pelton, Georgette Jones (daughter of Country Legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette), The Belle Tones, The Large Flower Heads, One Night Stand, Cramer Brothers and an “Outrageous Jam Session.”
New this year is a Zero Turn Competition, sponsored by Hillside Small Engine, a fireworks spectacular, garden tractor pull, demolition derbies which will include a junk car race, youth demo, power cars, full-size cars and compact cars, Barnyard Olympics, Tuff truck event, radio remote control demo, and an antique field stock tractor pull.
Tuesday is children’s day with many prizes, including bicycles to be given away at 7:00 pm and Wednesday is Senior Citizens Day with prize giveaways at 8:00 pm at the main arena.
Other activities at the fair include great food, games, rides, agricultural exhibits, the Carbon Model Railroad display, Buster the Clown, chain saw carving, Farmer for a Day, Hit and Miss Engines, Smokey Bear and much more.
There is a general admission fee of $5.00 per person for everyone 6 years and older. Admission includes musical entertainment. The fair is located 3 miles east of Palmerton. From Allentown, take Route 145 North to Route 248 West to the Palmerton Exit to Delaware Avenue. Stay on Delaware Avenue and go through Palmerton. At the Y, stay right, fairground is 3 miles on the right. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take exit 74 to 209 South to 248 East. Take Palmerton Exit and follow directions above. From Stroudsburg take 209 South and turn left on Forest Inn Road (just past Country Junction) through Aquashicola, bear left on to Little Gap Road, the fair is 3 miles on right.
