Brodheadsville man gets 15 to 32 years for sex trafficking minor

A Brodheadsville man Friday received a maximum prison sentence of 32 years for the sex trafficking of a 15-year-old Wayne County girl.

Wayne County Judge Raymond L. Hamill also ordered Noel Brown to serve a minimum of 15 years.

Mr. Brown, 42, lured the girl from her home in Oregon Twp., Wayne County, June 29 and took her to his residence, got her drunk and posted a partially nude photo of her on the internet. Then, he took the teen to a hotel in Tannersville so she could engage in sex acts with his "clients," prosecutors said.

Mr. Brown even had the victim sign a contract to engage in services for those clients that included massage, stripping and what was stated as "comfort as defined by the host," Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards said.

In November, a jury convicted Mr. Brown of five charges - trafficking in minors, interference with custody of children, dissemination of photos of child sex acts, corruption of minors and furnishing liquor to minors.

On Friday, the judge ruled Mr. Brown to be a sexually violent predator, which mandates the strictest rules on reporting to state police and includes restrictions, including where the offender can live.

The district attorney said the conviction and sentence send a strong message to anyone else who might consider committing the crime of sex trafficking a minor.

"Unlike the crime of drug delivery, where the drug can only be sold once, humans can be sold over and over for profit by individuals like this defendant," she said. "I am glad that the issue was brought to light and that this defendant will be unable to corrupt any more young females for a very long time."
