Chestnuthill Turkey Hill robbed this morning

    A man robbed the Chestnuthill mini mart early this morning, assaulting a clerk in the process.

    According to police, the suspect entered the store at 3:59 a.m. and demanded money from the cash register. As the store clerk tried opening the register, the suspect punched him in the face and forced the register open.

    The suspect fled the area with the cash register draw containing an unknown amount of money.

    The suspect was described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds to 220 pounds, with a stocky build, wearing a green shirt over his head, a black, long-sleeve shirt, grey sweat pants and red/black and white sneakers.

    Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at Fern Ridge at 570-646-2271.
