After a lengthy investigation, members of the Monroe County Drug Task Force arrested Jenice McNear, 25, of Saylorsburg, on Wednesday February 24, 2016.  Detective’s from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, executed a search warrant at McNear’s Weingartner Road home in Hamilton Township.

After receiving information from several of McNear’s customers about her drug dealing, Drug Task Force members were able to conduct an undercover drug buy out of her residence on February 23, 2016.  An informant went with an undercover police officer to purchase heroin from McNear.  The purchase, along with the statements from other informants, gave detectives probable cause needed to apply for a search warrant for the residence and an arrest warrant for McNear.

One informant told police that McNear would set up drug deals at the Dollar General or the Sunoco Gas station in Saylorsburg.  The informant said that on one occasion he/she waited for McNear at the Dollar General, when McNear arrived she sold heroin to approximately five customers in the parking lot, going from vehicle to vehicle collecting money and handing out bundles of heroin.

While executing the warrant police found several hundred empty heroin packets in McNear’s bedroom as well was $960.00 US currency, 93 bags of heroin and two cell phones.  While interviewing McNear she stated that she sold heroin only to support her own drug habit. McNear said she would travel to Paterson, New Jersey to purchase heroin then bring it back to her home to sell. The price of a brick of heroin (50 bags) in Paterson, NJ is approximately $120-200 and can be sold in Monroe County for double the price.

McNear was arraigned by MDJ Jolanna Krawitz on two cases filed by Detective Kim Lippincott of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. Bail was set at $100,000 and $50,000 secured. She will appear for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
