Monroe County District Attorney Detective Mario Orlando charged SCOTT WILLIAM BORUSHAK, 53, of Hamilton Township for misusing his mother's funds that he was in control as her Power of Attorney.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Orlando discovered that from September 3, 2015, to about September 11, 2016, BORUSHAK had taken a total of $388,911.94 from his mother's checking accounts by issuing a total of 111 checks to himself and/or for his own benefit.
BORUSHAK is currently incarcerated at United States Penitentiary, Canaan on unrelated drug charges.
On August 2, 2017, charges were filed against BORUSHAK by Detective Orlando, including theft by unlawful taking or disposition, theft by deception and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received.
BORUSHAK will appear before Magisterial District Judge JoLana Krawitz for his Preliminary Hearing on a later date.
